Atom is a text editor that is already a fully featured word processor with things such as smart auto completion and find and replace functions. What makes Atom so special is that the word processor/editor was built to allow you to change and alter the coding in a variety of different ways to make the software better suited for your needs. Tailor it with extensions that you write yourself. Alternatively, you may download and install extensions from the Atom website. It was built to be hackable, so the developers have created a program that you can change without touching the config file. You may break the program into different panes that allows you to compare and edit code across different files.
